Abi and Tim design very unique jewellery, all cast in silver. The unique designs are drawn up and then perfected using CAD software.
Using CAD enables prototypes to be made much easier through 3D printing and reproduced through lost wax casting in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter in small casting runs, then hand polished. Amoreantos’ pendants are sent to London Assay Office for hallmarking.
Abi and Tim were looking for help with promoting the business and needed some marketing expertise. The Graphic designers from Focus Digital met with Amoreantos and discussed the best way we could help get the name out there as well as show case the products. A dual purpose business card could help with part of this as not only could it be used in meetings with new and potential clients at networking and other events but also to be put into the box when the jewellery is sent out to the customer to enforce the brand. Building a website that would showcase the designs and enable a point of contact for the customer was the next and obvious next step. This was done through WordPress as it is very simple to update the content and as Abi would be maintaining this website it is the best platform to do this not to mention it is very easy to work with. www.amoreantos.co.uk
I met with Nick Carr and Richard Varley first to discuss my digital requirements and show them sample pendant designs for inspiration. They were both enthusiastic and understood the brand immediately. Richard began by improving the design for the business card which really helped to provide an edgy design with a silver metallic logo on black background. I have been complimented on my business card many times and it is an essential tool inside the jewellery boxes.
Establishing a working WordPress website that I could update myself was for me the best digital expertise Richard could provide. However I did over estimate what could be done in the allotted time. Richard contacted the website host and all the complicated set up process was resolved before I even met with Richard. Once I had the plugins installed Richard whizzed through the template populating the site really quickly with great attention to detail picking up on my cues as to what I wanted the layout to look like. I am really pleased that I met with him at the university because the process was so much quicker than by email. I was realistic about the digital help I needed and could follow up on what had been started after the work Focus Digital did, this part of the course is an amazing opportunity.”
